If you look Reiki up in the dictionary it is defined as: a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

The origin is Japanese, literally translating to,‘universal life energy.’

A Reiki session can help to ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels - physical, mental and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and many people use Reiki for wellness.Reiki is not

I take a multidimensional approach to my Reiki sessions, just as I do for my own personal Reiki and Spiritual practice. We will discuss the use of meditation, crystals, essential oils, music/sound and a lot more and I will apply them as needed and to the comfort level of the client.

A few examples include: Playing music that holds certain energetic frequencies such as 432hz or even just something soothing and relaxing. Applying essential oils to my hands, to the client or diffused in the room to heighten the experience.  Placing crystals on or near the client or in the room to utilize their healing energetic properties.  Which music, oils or crystals will depend on what I feel would benefit the session.

As my personal Reiki and spiritual practices evolve I will share the knowledge with my clients and our sessions will also evolve.

A typical session is usually about 60 minutes long (though there is a 90 minute option also). A discussion will take place during our initial session. I will describe the session to my client, give the client an opportunity to discuss any particular problems or issues they are experiencing and ask them what they are hoping to achieve from their session. At subsequent sessions, we will have a more brief discussion regarding what they would like to achieve.

For the actual session, the client will rest comfortably on a massage table on their back with their shoes removed. Unlike massage therapy, no articles of clothing are removed/the client is always fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is suggested. I will proceed by moving through specific standard Reiki hand positions beginning at the person’s head or feet. I will hover over some areas and will apply a light touch at others, depending on what energy I am feeling as well as the client's comfort level. When receiving Reiki, the client might feel a warming sensation or a tingling during the session or nothing at all except total relaxation. If other multi-dimensional healing techniques are discussed, these will be performed during this time as well.

At the end of our session, if there is time, and at the discretion of the client, we will discuss how the session went and what the client and I felt during the session as well as desire for future sessions.

My goal is to leave you feeling relaxed and ready to take on anything that comes your way!

I personalize my approach dependent on what the client expresses they need.  I explain what I will be doing and also review anything I may have felt during the Reiki session (to the comfort of the client of course).  I am forming relationships with my clients, the sessions are an energetic exchange, not just time for money.

Reiki does not end after just the one session, many clients will feel emotional or have some thoughts after that they may wonder about.  I make myself available to my clients if they have any questions after our sessions.
